About the Role
Requirements
Interstate Sound is searching for a full time Audio Technician.
Our Audio Technicians work to support a range of projects that include concert audio production, corporate AV support, and other events that have a live audio component.
This is a technical position. The Audio Technician shall at a minimum, demonstrate a mastery of basic audio concepts, possess a strong understanding and applies intermediate audio concepts to projects and maintains a desire to constantly advance his/her understanding of advanced audio concepts.
The Audio Technician shall report directly to the owner, however, he/she will regularly work in tandem with other department technicians to meet our client’s needs.
Work hours vary and often include overtime, work over holidays, and the majority of our work takes place on weekends. Schedules change frequently and some events pop up with no notice.
The successful candidate demonstrates good time-management skills, an observable attention to detail and great interpersonal, organizational, and written skills. He/she will be competent at preparing, operating, maintaining, and protecting company assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Advance client jobs and prepare equipment manifests according each job’s needs,
Prepare and organize appropriate equipment items for dispatch,
Assist in the delivery of equipment items and participate in the set-up and connectivity of integrated audio-visual systems,
Supervise client provided stage-hands and instruct others how to safely assist in the assembly of audio-visual systems,
Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of work areas in the warehouse and while at job sites.
General Requirements / Qualifications
Preference shall be given to persons with (in order);
Has a master level understanding of audio systems deployment and tuning,
Previous experience as a touring sound engineer or audio systems technician,
Previous experience as a corporate audio-video technician,
Bachelor's Degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and professional technical direction experience,
Master of Fine Arts in Technical Production,
Is comfortable with and can drive commercial motor vehicles,
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this job will requires:
Regularly stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Use hands to handle, feel, and talk or hear.
Reach with hands and arms.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repetitively and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds.
Roughly 50/50 mix of indoor and outdoor work environments.
